  • Position Summary
  • This position facilitates the provision of quality customer service to tobacco users across the state who would like tobacco treatment support through the Maine QuitLink. The role serves as the Resource, Registration and Referral Specialist for the Maine QuitLink. The position provides information about the program to callers and does initial eligibility screening, comprehensive program intake and enrollment services, and processes provider referrals as needed and appropriate. Assists with other tasks related to enrollment, re-enrollment, program nicotine replacement therapy assistance, referral reporting, and other projects as assigned, to ensure participants can access care as necessary.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High school level of knowledge preferred and at least two years' advanced education and experience to prepare reports, perform calculations, complete forms and write business letters.
    • License/Certifications: N/A
    • Experience: See "Education." General knowledge of state and federal agencies, community resources, and regulations acquired through no less than 2 years of experience in social/human services, health care management or related field.
    • Computer competency that will enable employee to operate project's software system and meet the responsibilities of the position. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point), Internet usage and DataNet software for PAP applications, if applicable.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively, compassionately and cordially interact with the public including health care providers and applicants.
    • Excellent verbal skills in order to explain policies and procedures to applicants, enrollees, providers and the general public.
    • Strong customer service, teamwork, resource knowledge and advocacy skills are essential.
    • Requires significant initiative, independent judgment and discretion.
