Job Description

Responsible for providing nursing care adapted to the individual patient needs based on the nursing process which includes: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Promotes continuity of care to ensure that patient needs and expected outcomes are met. Must be capable of functioning as a member of the team and perform circulating duties as necessary. This includes delegating and supervising the delivery of medical care by the clinic nursing staff and support nursing staff including operational performance, quality of service and delivery of care. Education and/or Experience Current Washington state RN license in good standing Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred CPR/BLS Certification required Two years' experience in hospital/clinic environment preferred Previous leadership/supervisory experience preferred One year of Cardiology experience preferred Telemetry experience preferred ACLS preferred Major Responsibilities Performs daily leadership and supervision of nursing staff including: assigning tasks, inspecting completed work, ensuring that quality standards are met, conducting new employee orientation, conducting training Initiates and participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities based on the four components: quality, customer satisfaction, process/system refinement and financial impact Coordinates and distributes the monthly nursing schedule. Must coordinate with physicians' work schedule Delivers safe and effective care for patients whose needs range from uncomplicated to moderately complex and rapidly changing. Interacts with the other members of the health care team to achieve desired results Thoroughly assesses patients' status and health history. Assesses changes in patient status, anticipates problems before they occur, and implements appropriate measures. Monitors for side effects of medications and treatments. Rooms patients and obtains vital signs. Assures most recent tests, etc. are available for provider to review at time of appointment. Delivers immunizations and injections within scope of practice Orders medication refills within scope of practice and per established policies and procedures Orders and tracks lab tests Maintains medical record documentation Assists provider with procedures Conducts patient EKGs, ear lavage, visual and hearing screenings Performs suture removal and dressing changes Performs routine phlebotomy; obtains and prepares specimens for transport Conducts patient follow up calls Performs general cleaning, stocking and organization of work area, lab and exam rooms Provides patient and family education, procedure explanation, and obtains consent and/or ABN appropriately Assists provider in maintaining a consistent and smooth patient flow Communicates with front office staff in order to better communicate with patients waiting for care services Schedule 1.0 FTE; 40 hours/week; Day Shift
