The Business Intelligence Analyst II provides expertise in the planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of new or existing functionality related to clinical and business information systems in support of Business Intelligence services.
The Business Intelligence Analyst II provides support for the application development or implementation of high complexity and cross-functional programs or projects.
Serves as a resource to Analyst I.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Strong understanding of process redesign including documentation of current and future state workflow processes. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
·Provides evaluation, design and implementation services for new products, technologies and solutions to address corporate business requirements.
·Provides cross-training and escalation support for Tier 1 analysts.
·Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
·Understanding of clinician/business users needs and practice patterns, as well as hospital operations and workflow
·Ability to test, analyze, troubleshoot, and isolate complex problems. Provide support in and travel to all service area facilities as needed by the business.
·Perform daily production support activities.
·Participate in team on-call rotations.
·Provide exceptional customer service to LGH end users, business stakeholders and other members of LGH I.S. Department.
·Ability to work on project assignments that are large in scope.
·Adhere to change/project management processes as it applies to the I.S. Application team.
·Provide application support for issues across multiple disciplines and technologies.
·Demonstrates creativity and takes initiative in problem solving. Resolves or facilitates resolution of moderate problems for assigned program.
·Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of supported platforms/products and environments.
·Serves as a resource to team members and their user community by understanding the functionality and data of the applications. Maintains a complete understanding of the system processes.
·Controls and maintains all related profiles, tables, report documentation, help screens, screen layouts & flow, and/or procedures relating to the system to assure that the system is fully utilized and appropriate security is maintained.
·Develops and maintains documentation of system procedures, project planning, testing and training
·Escalates encountered situations to the responsible area with detailed and accurate information thereby contributing to the efficient operation of the System Project and consistent with the philosophy and goals of LGH.
·Performs other duties as assigned by management.
·B.S. Degree in Computer Science discipline or equivalent experience is required.
·Minimum of 4 years programming experience required.
·3+ years of EHR experience preferred.
·Experience working in a complex healthcare environment is preferred.
·Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
·Strong analytical skills required.
·Strong technical troubleshooting skills required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
·Medium Work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor constitutes a maximum lift of 21-50 pounds on occasion and/or a maximum lift of 11-25 pounds on a frequent basis
·May be required to assist in the turning, lifting, or moving patients as well as
walking about from patients’ rooms, as well as to and from various hospital areas
