Job Description

The Occupational Therapist assumes professional responsibility for providing evaluation and treatment of clients requiring services as defined by state of Alaska’s Occupational Therapy Practice Act. https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/web/portals/5/pub/PT-OTStatutes.pdf CHALLENGES:   To provide high quality occupational therapy services to a wide variety of clients in an efficient, professional manner. To maintain clinical expertise while practicing in a small department in a rural community. Occupational therapy program development. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: The occupational therapy position requires: A degree in Occupational Therapy from a university accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association, a license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Alaska, or the ability to acquire same in an appropriate time frame. Current CPR certification.  Three or more years of experience in occupational therapy are preferred in a variety of clinical setting. ENVIRONMENT: South Peninsula Hospital is a 22 bed critical access hospital with a 28 bed Long Term Care Facility.  Physical demands are moderate and may require heavy lifting, periods of prolonged standing, and the ability to assist patients as needed.
