  • Position Summary
    • The Invasive Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist will utilize a combination of training, assessment and technical skills in the accomplishment of their duties in the Cath or EP Labs.  The level II Cath Lab tech is  require to scrub and assist in the performance of diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic cardiac procedures. The position requires the use of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and constant evaluation of the patient's hemodynamic status and vital signs.

    • The level II technologist is expected to produce, evaluate and calculate hemodynamic information to assist the physician in rendering medical diagnosis. .The invasive technologist will also be required to manage the image during the procedure. Work is performed with considerable independence. Accurate record keeping and attention to detail are essential.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Graduate of school of Cardiovascular Technology, school of Radiologic Technology.
    • License/Certifications: ACLS and/or PALS. RT must be ARRT and have a current Maine license.
    • Experience: Two years of invasive clinical experience.
    • Sterile technique. Coronary anatomy, hemodynamic waveform analysis.
    • Ability to operate all ancillary equipment associated with cath procedures (IVUS, brachy, rotablator, angiojet, pressure wire, etc).
    • Strong computer skills, especially Windows.
    • Level II tech must be RCIS.
