This position is eligible for a sign on bonus with one or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse and a 12 month commitment.*


The Psychiatric and Addiction Recovery Center at Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC), is located in Rockport, Maine.  Rockland is located in a truly magnificent area, overlooking the picturesque Maine coastline. We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse to join our team! The scope of the Psychiatric and Detox nurse involves the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with acute psychiatric conditions and/or detoxification from alcohol and/or other substances. These patients range in age from 18 years through geriatrics. Working within a Multidisciplinary Treatment Team Model, the PARC RN collaborates with a variety of disciplines to develop a treatment plan, monitor effectiveness of that plan and to assist in the development of a discharge plan that best meets the patient’s and family’s needs.

This is a full time position, working days and evenings for 36 hours a week.

The qualified candidate will possess the following:

    • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • License/Certifications: Current licensure on the State of Maine Board of Nursing.
    • Current BLS Certification.
    • MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) Course completed within 12 months of hire.
    • Completion of department competencies within 1 month of hire.
    • Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills.


*Current MaineHealth employees are not eligible for any sign on bonus.  Candidate must be separated from the MaineHealth system for greater than 6 months to be eligible.
