FOOD SERVICE SANITATION SPECIALIST - LGMC DIETARY - PART TIME (JOB ID: 5725)

The Food Service Sanitation Specialist is responsible for the washing and sanitizing of all soiled patient service ware as well as equipment utilized in meal production; must have the ability to operate and maintain a commercial dish machine and three compartment sink including set-up, breakdown and de-liming; removes trash from all assigned areas; cleans kitchen equipment and floors and assists stock/inventory technician in the storage of food supplies upon delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, pots/pans, using commercial dishwasher or manual three compartment sink.
2.Maintains kitchen work areas, equipment or utensils in a clean and orderly condition.
3.Completes perpetual daily trash removal and maintains cleanliness of trash containers.
4.Cleans/Sweeps/ Mops kitchen floors and rugs utilizing manual/motorized floor cleaning equipment
5.Completes documentation of logs for all chemical sanitation as per guidelines.
6.Prepares and breakdowns dish machine for all assigned meal periods; completed weekly de-liming of dish machine.
7.Ensures all handwashing sinks are cleaned and sanitized daily; maintains hand soap and towel dispensers.
8.Is knowledgeable and can safely utilize caustic chemicals required for cleaning and sanitation.
9.Utilizes appropriate personal protective equipment in daily activities.
10.Assists in the receipt and storage of supplies to the department by various vendors.
11.Understands and adheres to HACCP and food safety guidelines.
12.Always exercises proper body mechanics, wears back support and slip resistant shoes to avoid accidents/injury.
13.Works as necessary in all areas of the Food and Nutrition Services department adhering to policies and procedures.
14.Exhibits professional, respectful attitude toward patients, guests, employees, and all those that we serve.
15.Respects hospital property, rules and regulations, and always demonstrates a honest, constructive and caring work ethic and performance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
1.Frequent walking, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling and working in hot, cold and wet areas.
2.Must be able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
3.Daily contact with hazardous chemicals
4.Rotational shift to include morning and afternoon shifts, weekends, holidays, and extended hours due to the work load and departmental staffing
