PRN Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

Assists, consults, contributes, executes, and participates in the daily activities of the Pharmacy Services Department to insure that optimum pharmaceutical care is provided to all patients. Assists staff pharmacists and director of pharmacy in all functions to maintain efficient operation of the department. Qualifications Required:  Formal Education and Certification West Virginia Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician in Training status. For individuals who are eligible, submit paperwork to the Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. License available as soon as state processes. Certification with the National Pharmacy Certification Board or equivalent Knowledge and Experience Strong math capabilities Personal Attributes At least 18 years old Proficient manual dexterity to use various office machines, such as, but not limited to, a telephone, typewriter, computer, calculator and Pyxis Proficient oral/written communication skills in the English language to communicate with patients, visitors, staff and physicians on a frequent basis Excellent visual acuity to read physician orders Excellent people interactive skills Preferred: Knowledge and Experience One year of hospital pharmacy technician experience
