Job Description

Administers and/or monitors a variety of respiratory therapy care and life support procedures to patients of all age groups with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system under indirect supervision. Plans and performs clinical procedures requiring independent judgment and ingenuity. A therapist may be cross-trained in performance of EEGs and polysomnograms. Acts as resource for nursing, physicians and others of the healthcare team. Qualifications Required: Formal Education and Certification Current certification with unrestricted license as Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of West Virginia Basic cardiac life support (BCLS) (if Certification is not current on hire or will expire during department orientation, staff must attend the next available CPR class after hire) Knowledge and Experience Must successfully complete the PCH Orientation and training for Respiratory Therapy.   Preferred: Knowledge and Experience Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) Neonatal resuscitation program (NRP)
