Same Day Surgery
Assists the Director of Surgical Services with the operational needs of the division, as well as the clinical unit/area responsibilities. Accountable for audits of medical records for quality of patient care, participation in performance improvement and quality management process within the divison; education of staff on treatment and discharge planning. Provides leadership and has 24 hour responsibility and accountability for the successful operation of a designated department/unit service. Participates as a member of the hospital's management team in planning, policy formulation and administrative decision making with particular reference to the role, functions and operation of the unit/department/service. Is a steward of the hospital's mission and service excellence program.
Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
Experience in a supervisory role or demonstrated ability to be a leader.
Working knowledge of various computer programs to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
Current LA nursing license; Crisis Response Training and CPR. Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English.
Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers, physicians and other medical staff. Advanced mathematical skills.
Requires emotional stability and resilience.
