The Nurse Manager assumes the responsibility for the day-to-day functioning of the Archer Institute psychiatric programs. This is a position that requires both Administrative functions, as well as, Floor Leadership functions. The Nurse Manager will: develop & implement a high quality program; supervise all nursing staff; provide staff development & educational opportunities for all nursing staff; maintain PI reports ; maintain employee schedule; maintain Time & attendance ; ensure Staffing is in accordance with policy; conduct Unit meetings; maintain & monitor Quarterly education; maintain & monitor Annual competencies; track meeting attendance/training attendance; review all Complaints/grievances initially and if unresolved then defer to DON; research/implementing up to date evidence based practices in accordance with policies & procedures of LCMH; complete Chart audits; Orientation of new hires; Documentation review; Psych skills fair with Psych Leadership Team; oversee skills competencies; Hiring employees/interviews; Maintaining supplies; Oversee the unit schedules are in compliance (groups); Annual evaluations; Tracking callins/tardies; Tracking employee adherence to policies/procedures; Problem solving daily issues; Assist staff on floor as needed; Track critical incidents/investigate incidents with DON; Maintain interdepartmental collaboration; Attend mandatory meetings throughout the hospital; Participate in assigned committees throughout the year; Listen to employee concerns/address concerns/escalate concerns; Maintain equipment is updated and in proper working order; Maintain a safe working environment; Complete work request as needed (maintenance/biomed/ITS); Assist with surveys/surveyors ; Knowledge of all policies/procedures. The Archer Institute Nurse Manager provides leadership and has 24 hour responsibility and accountability for the successful operation of all Behavioral Health Programs. The Archer Institute Nurse Manager coordinates with the DON in planning, policy formulation and administrative decision making with particular focus to the nursing roles, functions and operations within Psychiatric Services. Prefer 5-7 Years Experience in working with mentally ill &/or addictions; Prefer 2 Years Experience in Hospital Leadership setting
