The Facility Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of grounds, general maintenance and skilled trades’ staff, (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and stationary engineers). The Manager is under the administrative direction of the Corporate Facility Director; carries out day-to-day supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Day-to-day responsibilities include employee onboarding, performance guiding, development and training; plan, implement and supervise work schedules, preventive maintenance schedules, condition assessments, allocation of budgets, and energy conservation initiatives; addressing complaints and resolving problems; manages buildings, structures and supporting equipment, including alterations, remodeling, minor construction, and the installation and servicing of mechanical and electrical equipment and building systems.
Must have a basic understanding of CMS Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission standards in particular the 2012 editions of the NFPA 99 and 101. Must be able to develop and manage a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure a safe working environment for our patients, visitors, physicians and staff. This individual must also ensure compliance with OSHA, Life Safety Code, NFPA, and all applicable codes and standards.
Bachelor's degree with experience is preferred but extensive experience in the healthcare field with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Plant Operations and Maintenance at an accredited hospital will be strongly considered. CHFM certification is highly desirable.
