Summary

  • Position Summary
    • Participates in the day to day functions of the Nutritional Services Department, ensuring quality food products are readily available for internal and external customers. The position will be responsible for a variety of shifts and positions filling the schedule as needed to ensure coverage of budgeted shifts. Essential Job Responsibilities will include, Tray Aide, Porter, Galley Stock, Cafeteria Aide, Cold Food Production, Diet Aide and Cook.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.
    2. License/Certifications: Serve Safe Certified or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
    3. Experience: Food service experience is required.
    4. Knowledge of foods and food preparation.
    5. Knowledge of the operation and care of kitchen equipment.
    6. Knowledge of food service sanitation and safety is required.
    7. Ability to work effectively with fellow workers and others.
    8. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
    9. Ability to learn the use and care of equipment, materials, utensils, and methods used in food service.
    10. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
    11. Ability to walk and remain standing while on shift.
