The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist works to optimize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in support of effective and efficient patient care. Specializes in the medication process, from ordering to administration. Collaborates with health system clinical pharmacists, non-pharmacist clinicians, providers, Information Technology (IT) and others as appropriate in the design of the EHR, Order Sets, Therapy and Treatment plans and Clinical Decision Support. Presents options for best practice with particular emphasis placed on understanding and managing the impact of changes in clinical practice and technology within clinical settings. Supports providers, clinicians and pharmacists as the resource for system changes related to medication ordering and clinical decisions support. This position will focus on EHR optimization in the pharmacy retail, pharmacy specialty, ambulatory infusion, and ambulatory clinic settings.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree is preferred.
License/Certifications: Must be a registered Pharmacist, or eligible for licensure in the State of Maine.
Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as inpatient, infusion center and/or ambulatory pharmacist. Experience in pharmacy informatics is preferred. Experience with order set development and clinical decision support processes preferred. Experience with pharmacy workflows, clinical systems and technology. Epic experience preferred, must complete end user training for Willow within 3 months of hire date.
A general or specialized pharmacy residency is preferred
Good communication skills(both verbal and written)
Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
