Administrators on Duty / Full-time / 32 Hours / 2nd Shift (Posted 08/05/2020)
The Administrator On Duty (AOD) role will oversee patient placement within the medical center and allocate staff resources to reflect patient census. Supervise nursing staff through charge nurse and leadership team for each unit, providing professional guidance as needed. Advise and assist with public relations, administrative and personnel issues. Investigate and resolve human resources, patient care, and operational problems. Assist in leading and managing the Internal Resource Team (IRT). Interpret, apply and enforce medical center policies. Investigate and resolve patient complaints. Supervise and coordinate ancillary staff (e.g., environmental services, plant operations, and safety staff). Serves as an administrative representative. May perform special projects for the division.
Education and Credentials Required:
Graduate of accredited BSN nursing program. Current NC RN license or licensure from Nursing Compact State.
Master of Science in Nursing Degree Requirements: Effective May 1, 2016 newly employed and current employees promoted into the following positions are required to possess a MSN degree or a Master’s degree in a related field. The MSN degree or Master’s degree in a related field must be completed within five years from the date of employment or placement into the position. Incumbents in the following positions on the effective date will be required to be enrolled into the Master’s program within two years of the effective date to maintain the current position and the degree must be completed within five years from the date of employment or placement into the position.
Work Experience Required:
Five years of nursing experience. Incumbent must have extensive experience both in clinical and administrative nursing.
