The Sports Medicine Research Institute in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Kentucky is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated post-doctoral scholar with expertise in rehabilitation or prevention of sport-related musculoskeletal injury or concussion. The post-doctoral scholar will work on projects funded by the Department of Defense including 1) a clinical trial examining rehabilitation strategies for chronic ankle instability or 2) injury prevention strategies for active-duty service members. This position will participate in laboratory data capture and analyses for ongoing research projects within the SMRI or at off-site testing locations. Candidates must possess the ability to pursue independent research projects and apply for extramural funding to support their efforts in a research area parallel to the mission of the SMRI. Applicants with experience providing research mentorship to graduate and undergraduate researchers will be given preference.
The applicant must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field, with significant laboratory experience, exemplified by publication(s). Applicants who are ABD with the intention of graduating in the Spring 2021 semester will be considered. Applicants eligible for licensure in Kentucky as an Athletic Trainer or Physical Therapist are preferred. Eligible applicants should be highly motivated and be able to work in a collaborative environment. The applicant will be expected to be involved in several research projects and contribute to the writing of grant applications and publications.
