Job Description

Is responsible for overseeing, supervising and administrating all laboratory activities in accordance with established hospital and department policies and standards. Will comply with all criteria mandated by appropriate accrediting and licensing agencies.

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved school of medical technology. Minimum five years experience in hospital laboratory with two years director/supervisory experience. Must be registered as a medical technologist by the registry board of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. "Administrative Skills •Computer Skills: Input data into computer programs, use computer packages to prepare graphics, use computerized spreadsheets to conduct analysis •Communication Skills: Answer telephones, compose letters, coordinate events, coordinate meetings, interview others, schedule appointments, transcribe dictated documents •General Office Skills: Balance figures, compile statistics, establish filing systems, maintain filing, maintain logs, proofread documents, research information Equipment, Machines & Tools Used •Computer Equipment: LIS, HIS, Personal Computer •General Office Equipment
