Position Summary

This clinical leadership position is responsible for provision of effective management, operations and leadership of the community hospice program and care team members.  Using the theoretical model of Quadruple Aim the Hospice Manager leads, guides, supports, and directs care team members to provide highly reliable, evidenced based, patient-family centered quality care for terminally ill patients of all ages in their homes.  This position reports to the VP Hospice.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree preferred.

License/Certifications: Clinical certification in Hospice and Palliative Care by the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses; Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license to practice in the State of Maine; Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers; Current driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency requirements.


  1. Three years of clinical experience, supervisory, hospice  and home health management experience preferred.
  2. Proficient with Electronic Health Record.
  3. Working knowledge regarding content, interpretation and implementation of agency policies and procedures.
  4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  5. Ability to manage in an inter-professional team to achieve Agency goals and quality care outcomes.
  6. Expertise in the Medicare Conditions of Participation for Hospice and Maine State Hospice regulations.
