Job Description

The Medical Sonographer is responsible for providing high quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures using independent judgment to locate, evaluate, and record pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data in the diagnosis of disease or injury. The Medical Sonographer must demonstrate effective human relation skills to develop a positive relationship with patient. This position takes call on a rotational basis and must be present within thirty minutes of call time. Qualifications Required: Formal Education and Certifications Vascular ultrasound credential or registry eligible at time of hire.  Vascular credential must be obtained within 6 months.  New graduates must obtain the appropriate vascular credential within one year. CPR certification (if CPR is not current on hire or will expire during department orientation, staff must attend the next available CPR class after hire) Knowledge and Experience In depth knowledge of vascular and cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and medical terminology Must have an understanding of Meditech and PACS as related to specific job   Preferred: Formal Education and Certifications Progress toward additional board certification in Abdomen, OB/GYN and Breast.
