Oversees all revenue cycle activities including registration, charge master, patient accounting, patient financial counseling, revenue cycle integrity, payment compliance, and collections. Collaborates with all levels of the organization to drive results in the above areas. Makes strategic recommendations to improve workflow. Directs and leads staff within the scope of PFS. Ensures department activities and outcomes are aligned with the strategic plan and the organization's mission, vision and values.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or the equivalent years' experience relating to hospital and clinic billing and collection required
Accreditation/certification in patient account management preferred
6+ years of previous hospital/clinic experience in all aspects of business functions required
3+ years experience as a supervisor
Knowledge of state and federal regulations for acute facilities (critical access hospital) and clinics (rural health, provider based, and free-standing clinics)
Supervises registration, financial counseling, patient accounts, health information management, and revenue cycle integrity departments
Oversees submission of electronic and paper claims, posting of payments and adjustments to accounts
Oversees critical access Hospital and clinic billing (rural health, provider based, and free-standing clinics)
Oversees clinic and hospital coding
Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites work flow in a manner that supports exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
Optimizes reimbursement and maintaining cash flow at acceptable levels
Facilitates resolving billing and insurance issues, collections follow-up, and financial reporting
Develops and maintains fee schedules, chargemaster, and procedure/diagnosis code master files
Responsible for the development and timely review of policies and procedures for patient billing, chargemaster review, charity care, collections, and third-party payments
Responsible for the development and timely review of policies and procedures for registration practice and regulatory compliance, such as Medicare admission requirements, advance directives, credit policy and patient bill of rights
Responsible for ongoing revenue cycle management, including proper charge mapping and assistance with error resolution. Facilitates collaboration with directors and employees involved in the charge cycle process.
Participates in regular payor, financial, and facility audits
Demonstrates understanding and proficiency in the use of relevant software programs
Facilitates monthly staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as requested
Establishes and maintains excellent customer service relations; monitors the registration, financial counseling, patient accounts, and revenue cycle integrity department personnel in regards to public relations with patients and general public
Manages refunds and bad debt write offs
Develops and ensures policies and procedures are in place and up to date
Participates in preparing and adheres to annual budget
Responsible for managing staff, conducting performance evaluations, staff development and coaching
Participates in and drives results through strategic Performance Improvement initiatives
Fosters a high-performing culture and drives employee engagement
