Preparation and service of food to hospital staff, patients, and visitors. Workers handle cash sales and are responsible for cleaning and sanitation. Quality Improvement involvement may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNT ABILITIES
1. Food preparation and clean-up (salads, sandwiches, desserts, nourishments).
2. Assembles and attends foods for tray-line service for patients and cafeteria.
3. Operates dish-machine and maintains food carts.
4. Operates cash register and make change as needed.
5. Sweeps, mops floor and disposes of garbage.
6. Delivers food and nourishments to floors.
7. Other related duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous food service experience in lieu of education (on the job training is provided, approx. 2-3 weeks per position).
Must be able to read and write; follow oral and written instructions.
Mathematical skills: Compute monetary transactions (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
Add and subtract 2 digit numbers
Multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
Perform these operations using units of American money.
Perform these operations using measure by weight and volume.
