Job Description

The Director of Information Services provides vision and leadership for the planning, design, implementation, and operations of Jefferson Healthcare's Information Services, including the departments within the division that carry out the services. Other responsibilities include research and development, application of new information systems, analytics solutions, and technologies to support goals and strategic plans of the hospital, its clinics, and related services. This is a full time, exempt position   Required Education and Experience Five or more (5+) years of proven experience as Information Services Director or similar leadership position Clinical experience preferred Excellent knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure Background in designing/developing IT systems and planning IT implementation Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities A strong strategic and business mindset Excellent organizational and leadership skills Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities Bachelor's degree in computer science, nursing informatics, or relevant field required Master's degree in computer science, nursing informatics or relevant field preferred   Essential Functions Provides leadership in the identification, evaluation, recommendation and implementation of Information Services applications and infrastructure based on organizational needs and external factors/trends. Setting objectives and strategies for the IT, Analytics, and Clinical Informatics departments Selecting and implementing suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits Provides leadership to guide and support process change and adoption to move to an identified future state Leads assessment, design, implementation, and support of technology to inform decision-making and drive measurable outcomes Maintains a thorough knowledge of current trends in Health Care and emerging information systems and technologies. Provides project management skills for implementing new systems and/or upgrading existing systems, on time and within budget. Ensures effective communication with impacted parties about upcoming changes and seeks feedback about effective change communication processes. Supervises and supports Information Services staff in the successful operation of systems and applications. Responsible for efficient staffing and departmental productivity. Initiates, develops, and participates in the design and implementation of training for Information Services users.   Works with Information Services customers to ensure productive use of existing and new systems. Seeks routine feedback on continued value of current processes and systems and pursues opportunities for improvement and replacements when necessary. Oversee the technological infrastructure (networks and computer systems) in the organization to ensure optimal performance Identifies, builds, and maintains relationships of trust and partnership with internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to customers, vendors, suppliers. Monitors internal control systems to ensure that appropriate information access levels and security clearances are maintained.
