Summary
Clinical Social Worker for Early Psychosis Program:
We are seeking a licensed clinical social worker for a vibrant and growing early psychosis clinic and research program. The position will include a rich combination of clinical work and research with adolescents and young adults at high risk for a major psychotic disorder or within the first year of the onset of such a psychotic disorder, and their families. The Portland Identification and Early Referral program, a SAMHSA-funded early psychosis program, provides coordinated specialty care including CBT for psychosis, multifamily group psychoeducation, supported education and employment, and peer specialists.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience working with adolescents, young adults, and families, including those with major mental illness, and be looking for the opportunity to participate in research and obtain specialized training in assessment and early psychosis treatments. The current research program is focused on working with primary care practitioners and integrated behavioral health clinicians to identify young people earlier in the course of psychosis onset and improve rapid access to appropriate care. The person hired will be trained to engage and provide structured clinical assessment of young people with psychotic spectrum experiences, provide outreach to young people and families considering early psychosis treatment and, if interested, will have the opportunity to be a part of the academic aspect of the program, new grant applications and publications of results.
