Provides health care services, applying ultrasonic sonic energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients of all ages and physical abilities. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at, the request of a licensed practitioner. Provides leadership to the assigned area. Must have Breast Ultrasound skills.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:Graduate of an approved Sonography school preferred.
License/Certifications: ARDMS Certified. Current CPR certification.
Experience:Leadership experience required. 5+ years experience in Ultrasound.
Maintains Ultrasound knowledge by attending meetings or by the use of journals and articles
Obtain appropriate CEU to maintain licensure
Provides leadership support as it relates to schedules, charge capture, recruitment, protocol development, etc
Seek opinions of Radiologist or other sonographers when a case is in question
Able to use telerad system for off hours exams.
Understands protocols and procedures for each exam
Is capable of utilizing PC workstations and the HIS and RIS systems
