Neurodiagnostic Technician (.6 fte)

Part time, 24 hours per week (.6 fte), benefits eligible.   Seeking candidate who is able to perform EEG and EMG(NCV) procedures.   This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing Neurodiagnostic testing to both inpatients and outpatients to include EEG, EMG, Evoked Potential testing and the coordination of the Memory Clinic.   Job Specific Duties/Essential Functions Ensure that all accurate and clinically relevant information is communicated with patients, their families and co-workers at hand offs and other times as needed. Take all measures necessary to ensure that the appropriate and involved parties have communicated necessary information in order to allow for the best possible patient outcome. Performs routine and portable EEGs in accordance with current protocols on all age groups. Performs routine and portable evoked potentials in accordance with current protocols on all age groups. Performs routine and portable nerve conduction studies and assists the electromyographer in accordance with current protocols on all age groups. Documents patient information on appropriate medical records and forms Reviews each exam for technical accuracy and presents the completed exam to the appropriate physician, and communicates the exam report to the patient's physician/care giver when indicated. Participates in a call rotation for evening and weekend coverage for emergent Neurodiagnostic services. Secretarial/front desk coverage as needed in other departments or within the service line.   Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Broad knowledge of neuroanatomy and diseases of and injuries to central nervous system Professional Experience– Required vs. Preferred Previous Neurodiagnostic lab experience preferred. Will consider a new program graduate. Education-Required vs. Preferred Education sufficient to obtain required certification Committee on Allied Health Educations and Accreditation preferred Licensure, Certification, Registration - Required vs. Preferred R.EEG T., RPSGT, or other certification required as approved by Manager. Basic Cardiac Life Support in accordance with the American Heart Association required
