Summary

The Medication Transitions Pharmacy Tech Specialist position supports the inpatient pharmacy service for transitions of care within Maine Medical Center. The Pharmacy Tech Specialist conducts patient interviews, performs medication histories for hospital admitted patients, and consults with community pharmacies and providers.

Candidates must possess a minimum of one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy, home infusion setting, or retail/community pharmacy setting.

Qualified candidates are eligible for a $1,500 Sign-on Bonus!

The Sign-on Bonus is paid out in three payments; $250 within the first 30 days of employment, $250 at 6 months of employment, and $1,000 is paid out in the first pay period after 12 months of employment. Current MaineHealth employees are not eligible for the Sign-on Bonus. Former employees must be separated from the MaineHealth system for 3 months to be eligible.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: High School diploma or GED is preferred. Associate degree is preferred.
  • License/Certifications: CphT certificate preferred. Eligible or currently licensed in the State of Maine.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy, home infusion setting, or retail/community pharmacy setting. At least one year of prior work experience comparable to the duties and responsibilities for the Technician Generalist. Experience in the preparation and distribution of medications for patients of all ages is preferred.
  • Understands and accurately completes pharmaceutical calculations and their application to hospital pharmacy practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Analytical skills necessary to identify and resolve problems related to medication preparation and distribution.
