PHARMACY TECHNICIAN CERTIFIED II: A hospital Pharmacy Technician II is a healthcare professional who plays an integral role in the pharmacy operations. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the distribution of medications to patients in the hospital (inpatient and outpatient units, emergency room, and operating room). The distribution of medications, includes but is not limited to, selecting, counting, compounding, packing, labeling, and delivering medications to the units. A Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for the preparation of sterile compounds and for maintaining the sterile environment in the IV Room. Employees must be proficient in accessing and viewing the electronic health record and utilizing pharmacy automated systems. Employees will work in multiple areas of the pharmacy to maintain competency and broaden skills for all areas of the job scope.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: High School Degree or GED Other Active National Pharm Tech Cert (CPhT) is required. Approved cert is through Pharm Tech Cert Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Cert by the National Healthcareer Association. Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
EXPERIENCE: Up to 1 year Technical Pharmacy Experience must be as a Pharmacy Technician I to be eligible to move into the Pharmacy Technician II position. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: .
