Assist Medical Imaging and other hospital departments with safe transport of patients and other items as needed. Provides basic patient care duties as needed. Works assigned scheduled shift - including overtime, holidays, weekends and evenings.
Some of the major job functions include, but are not limited to:
Greets and provides assistance to misguided or lost visitors.
Answers cell phone or carries pager.
Adheres to hospital and departmental policies.
Assists in training and orientation of other employees.
Perform other duties as requested.
Transports equipment, supplies or other patient related items as needed.
Routinely clean equipment and identifies equipment in need of repair.
High School Diploma or GED.
Previous experience in a patient care setting or EMT preferred.
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with health care workers and patients.
Ability to work in a stressful environment.
Must be able to work as a “team player” with medical staff, nursing staff, MI staff, patients and visitors.
HeartSaver preferred, required within 6 months
PRN (as needed, less than 20 hours per week)
