This position supports Mercy’s philosophy of patient centered care by performing adult and pediatric cardiac ultrasound at a professional level on all patient populations serviced by the outpatient clinic or hospital.

Seeking an experienced and motivated Cardiac Echo/Pediatric Technologist for a growing cardiovascular team.
Sonographer performs in accordance with the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission Standards.
Demonstrates competency and proficiency performing routine complete cardiac ultrasound procedures in a clinic, hospital and/or outreach site depending on location.
Fulfills call rotation as scheduled.
Thoroughly understands the operation of the ultrasound machine and utilizes new sonographer technologies when needed such as 3D and strain imaging.
Interacts professionally and effectively with peers, physicians and surgeon staffing.
Supervises and/or trains students in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography as needed.
Adheres to safety and infection control policies established by Mercy. Adheres to established internal standards and procedures abstracted from Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPPA).
Operates ultrasound equipment to produce and record images in accordance to lab protocols with technical quality demonstrating competency and proficiency in the following:
Perform bubble study and contrast administration
Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram
Assists physicians in ultrasound guided procedures such as
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
Graduate from an accredited two-year Cardiac Ultrasound Program
Licensure, Certification, Registration
Registered or registry eligible as a Cardiac Sonographer RDCS or CCI
ARDMS preferred and registry within one year of hire date.
Current certification in Basic Life Support, in accordance with the American Heart Association guidelines required.
