Job Description

The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served in the T&D area. Ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standards of care. Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect. Qualifications REQUIRED Formal Education and Certifications Current professional licensure in the State of West Virginia as a Registered Nurse CPR (if CPR is not current on hire or will expire during department orientation, staff must attend the next available CPR class after hire) ACLS (if Certification is not current on hire or will expire during department orientation, staff must attend the next available class after hire) Successful completion of the orientation program provided by the hospital, nursing and T&D staff development programs Knowledge and Experience Basic computer skills Conscious Sedation certification Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served, or obtained within probationary period Knowledgeable and sensitive to patients' rights in the delivery of care   PREFERRED Formal Education and Certifications BS degree Knowledge and Experience Minimum of two (2) years' nursing experience.
