1st and 2nd shifts available. The Host/hostess position is responsible for delivering meals to patients and guests, following specific guidelines. A Host/hostess demonstrates a positive service attitude and is held accountable for meeting that standard. The Host/hostess is responsible for documenting the time and location of tray deliveries using Stella Kitchen Logistics. The Host/hostess may also take meal orders using the iPad and Stella Software. The position also picks up soiled trays from the patient rooms and dirty utility areas after meal service, and assists where needed in the room service operation. The Host/hostess is responsible for performing other duties as assigned, and relieves the Call Center staff and on his/her breaks as needed. The Host/hostess assists in restocking the entire service line (along with the starter and expeditor) as assigned. This position will also cover some duties in the dish room. The Host/hostess is the key personal contact person between the NS department and the patient and is expected to follow the scripting protocols as instructed. Because the Host/hostess is also required to serve as expeditor and call center staff, he/she must demonstrate familiarity with food operations and working knowledge of patient diets. Host/hostess will deliver trays to patients “round robin” which means that each Host/hostess will deliver any available cart to any floor. They will collect dirty trays by assigned areas, by zone.
