Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Current State licensure or licensure within a compact state. Current BLS certification required. Current ACLS certification preferred.
One year of psychiatric nursing preferred.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing process pertaining to assessment, reassessment, implementation of care, complete and accurate documentation of care, and evaluation of care. The nurse initiates health care training and education to the patient and family as required while supporting and fostering the goals of St. Bernards Five Rivers Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. The Registered Nurse demonstrates awareness of ongoing needs of the unit and provides leadership and direction to other team members in maintaining optimal standards of nursing care. The position is accountable for the supervision of other licensed nursing personnel for assigned units. The RN may participate in individual, group, and family psychotherapy and educational seminars as appropriate, provide comprehensive patient and family health education, provide for patient safety, privacy, and confidentiality, and utilize the counseling role of the nurse.
