The Medical Assistant (MA)’s primary function is to provide administrative support to providers in a team-based mental healthcare environment. 

As a Medical Assistant, you will assist providers in the care and treatment of patients, including administrative support, while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office and helping to create a calm, supportive atmosphere. The Medical Assistant must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care within their scope of practice and according to organizational policies, accrediting and licensing bodies.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Possess and maintain CPR certification.
  3. Experience: N/A
  4. Demonstrate use of tact and patience in communication with patients, families and MBH staff.
  5. Respects and maintains patient confidentiality.
  6. Maintains a professional appearance and attitude.
  7. Possess cognitive skills necessary to understanding terminology, medical records and instructions
  8. Excellent computer skills are required: Microsoft Word, Excel and use of electronic consumer record software
