Summary

For a limited time this position is eligible for up to a $20,000 sign on bonus, eligible candidates will have greater than 3 years (36 months) of Operating Room Registered Nurse work experience

For a limited time this position is eligible for up to a $10,000 sign on bonus for eligible candidates that have greater than six months (6 months) and less than three years (36 months) of Operating Room Registered Nurse work experience. 

Current Maine Health member employees are ineligible for either bonus; former SMHC or MaineHealth Organization Care Team Members have been separated from employment for a minimum of 6 months.

Southern Maine Health Care is a seeking Registered Nurses (RN) in their Operating Room in Biddeford. This circulating Nurse in the OR is responsible for performance of complex, individualized, family-oriented nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures.

Southern Maine Health Care operates 5 busy operating rooms, and roughly 500 cases per month. Cases included general surgery, GYN, eye surgery and orthopedics. Our ORs are staffed weekdays until 6pm. Call required for off shift coverage.

  • Position Summary
    • The health care work force of the future should have the knowledge and skills to provide patient-centered, community-focused, cost-effective, clinically-effective, coordinated care.  To do these things successfully, the work force must be competent, flexible, and adaptive to changes in health care delivery and technology.  The Registered Nurse is responsible for performance of complex, individualized, family oriented nursing care in accordance with policies and procedures under the direct supervision of a charge/shift leader RN.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: N/A
    • License/Certifications: Current licensure from the Maine State Board of Nursing as an R.N. required. BSN preferred. BLS and ability to perform CPR required. ACLS preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of one year's acute care experience as an R.N. preferred.
