Provides oversight and participates in the quality management program in assigned area.
Supervises bench testing in the assigned discipline, including oversight of the LIS.
Identifies opportunities and conducts training and competency assessment in assigned discipline.
Supervises and conducts investigation for issues and failures of instruments and test systems.
Ensures an adequate inventory of supplies and reagents to meet the laboratory volumes.
Performs bench testing, following and maintaining competency on policies and standard operating procedures.
Assists in the human resource management of the department, ensuring adequate staff for laboratory operation.
Assists in the financial management of the department.
Identifies opportunities for training and conducts and maintains records of competency assessment.
Resolves problems and leads quality improvement activities.
Assure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Exercises independent judgement in recruiting, training, coaching, supervising and directing assigned staff.
Conducts yearly evalutions on assigned staff.
