Job Purpose: Demonstrates support of the Mission, Vision, Values, and Standards of HCM. Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Cardiopulmonary, the Sleep Lab Coordinator evaluates and coordinates aspects of the operations for the sleep lab. Supports the enhancement, quality improvement, equipment evaluation, department design, and maintaining standards of care for the Sleep Lab. The Sleep Lab Coordinator will serve as a direct liaison to all referral sources and the public domain. Assures compliance with federal and state regulatory agencies.

Provides assistance with developing and implementing policies and procedures that guide and support the service of sleep and meet regulatory requirements.
Exemplifies excellent customer relations and acts as a liaison to patients, staff, ancillary departments and physicians. Supports HCM vision of customer service by seeking to exceed customer expectations.
Develops and provides community education in the form of health screenings, presentations, forums, and support groups. Assists Business Development in media education and advertising.
Provides assistance with: monitoring department productivity to achieve defined goals; supporting the Supervisor of Cardiopulmonary to manage the fiscal resources within the area of responsibility. Monitors, develops and assists in the purchase of equipment and ancillary supplies and assures inventory par levels are managed appropriately.
Provides assistance with developing and monitoring Quality Assurance and Archiving systems of the department to provide patient tracking and follow-up systems, interscorer reliability, and patient satisfaction of services. Strives to continually improve quality and patient safety incorporating Just Culture.
Provides assistance to the Supervisor with the interviewing, selection, orientation, and education of potential employment applicants. Assists with competency assessment of sleep lab technicians including and input for coaching, QCP’s and annual performance reviews.
Develops and provides follow- up patient continuance of care in the form of daytime acclimation studies and patient consultations.
Performs polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services. Follows procedural protocols in the analysis of patient data, preparation procedures and polysomnographic procedures.
Scores sleep/wake stages and clinical events by applying professionally accepted guidelines as needed by the sleep labs. Generates accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical data. Monitors outsourced scoring agency for accuracy of scoring raw data, accuracy of sleep reports and prompt turnaround time.
