Responsibilities Promotes and maintain effective and professional communication with patients, clients, co-workers and SCCA colleagues Works efficiently to minimize patient wait times Performs specimen processing of blood specimens Performs venipuncture phlebotomy Attendance & punctuality: is prompt for work and seeks support and guidance if needed regarding absenteeism Proficient in the use of email, and data entry in a Windows-based environment Performs specimen processing of blood specimens Performs venipuncture phlebotomy on patients, donors, research participants and employees where required Able to learn computer skills in a timely manner Processes specimens including centrifugation, aliquoting, and dispensing specimens to proper lab processing and sendout sites Participates in Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance programs and projects Records variances of standard policies and procedures in Patient Safety Net accurately and where required Responsible for receiving patients at the Alliance Laboratory for blood draw appointments and scheduling walk-in appointments May be asked to cover alternative shifts or weekends as needed per staffing Has the ability to work under pressure and adjust to changing workloads Ability to problem solve Meets attendance and punctuality expectations

Qualifications

Required: High school graduation or equivalent required. Knowledge of basic medical terminology Ability to lift 25 lbs.
