About High Risk OB/Antepartum Unit:

Located in the UH MacDonald Women's Hospital, this unit provides inpatient physiologic and psychosocial care primarily to women experiencing pregnancy-related and/or other medical/surgical complications during pregnancy.  In addition, this unit cares for antepartum patients undergoing outpatient surgery/procedures, post-partum women experiencing a perinatal loss from ectopic pregnancy through term gestation, post-partum women whose newborns are admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit/NICU Step-down Unit, post-partum women with medical/surgical complications and women experiencing uncomplicated gynecological diagnosis or surgery.  Services provided utilize a coordinated approach from admission to discharge.  

  • Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. 
  • Implements the nursing process by delivering effective relationship based nursing care.
  • Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes. 
  • Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations. 
  • Develops self and contributes to the professional practice of nursing. 
  • Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.


This unit offers a part time (16hrs per week) straight night with rotating weekends.


One (1) year of inpatient RN experience required. Strongly prefer candidates with a OB or Women's Health experience. 
Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices.
Education Requirements:Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.Minimum of Diploma/Associate’s Degree in nursing from accredited program.
License Requirements:

Registered nurse with current license to practice in the state of Ohio.
