Salem Medical Center is seeking Environmental Service Workers to join the team!
The shift will be 11:00pm-7:30am.
The responsibilities of the Environmental Services Worker includes:
-Performing routine cleaning of patient's rooms, nursing stations, laboratories, offices, conference rooms and other areas throughout the hospital.
-Follows established procedures on waste collection and disposal. Labels and packages Regulated Medical Waste.
-Maintains ancillary areas, stairwells, elevators and disposal. Cycle cleans specialty areas such as the OR and Delivery.
-Follows established procedures on care and maintenance of assigned equipment.
-Coordinates and monitors soiled linen pick-up and sorting, weighs and records.
-Maintains daily cleaning, cleans linen carts, hampers and machines. Assists in maintaining the entire laundry.
-Assists with stacking and loading of carts for distribution.
-Loads washing machines and monitors operation, making adjustments as necessary.
-May perform daily maintenance on hard surface and/or carpeted areas throughout the hospital. Follows established floor care procedures when scrubbing, buffing, bonneting or extracting. Responds to needed cleaning of spills both timely and efficiently using proper chemicals for task.
-Performs all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Experience: High School Education preferred.

High School or better.
1 year: Knowledge of working with various types of cleaning equipment and be able to operate various types of machines (buffers, extractors) preferred.
