Salem Medical Center is seeking a Part Time Cardiac Monitor Tech to work 24 hours per week during the night shift (7:00pm-7:30am).
The responsibilities of the monitor tech includes:
-Provides cardiac monitor observation.
-Prepares documentation related to the care of cardiac monitored patients.
-Coordinates the flow of paperwork related to patients' telemetry admission.
-Maintains awareness of rhythm/rate changes, documents a rhythm strip at time of change.
-Notifies registered nurse immediately of changes in the heart rate or rhythm, and notes the time that the nurse was made aware.
-Mounts follow-up strip after intervention completion.
-During code situation, continuously documents ECG code strips and mounts all appropriate strips at the conclusion of the code.
-Notes activity/symptoms on rhythm strip.
-Mounts and identifies any recorded strip including patient name, room number, PR interval, QRS width, QT interval, lead placement, signature and title.
-Never leaves the monitor area unattended.
-Performs all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Education: High School diploma required.
Experience: Two years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment preferred.
Licenses: AHA BLS or equivalent preferred. Telemetry Certification Course or equivalent experience preferred. Basic Dysrythmia course will be provided.
