Job Description

RN Nurse Residency area of focus: Advances decision making skills and communication skills   Expanding leadership skills to encourage the nurse resident to lead change and advance health   Creates professional connectivity among inter generational nurses to ensure that values are passed along and celebrated  Builds confidence by linking critical thinking with critical action  Institutional policies, procedures, and stands of care, introducing nurses to the key persons and structures needed to execute intuitional and departmental routines  Navigating political waters to advocate for change and engage in crucial conversations  Fosters reflection and exploration of what it means to be a nurse through case review, simulation, and use of self as an instrument of healing  Enhanced use of evidence-based decision making   Exposure to additional resources and support, socialization with nursing staff, growth with a cohort of new nurses going through the same experience, mentoring with a nurse, pediatric specific education with specialization in rehabilitation, etc.  Preparation for the Certified Pediatric Nurse exam    JOB DESCRIPTION      Renders professional nursing service in the treatment and care of patients as assigned. May be involved in providing direct patient care. Provides immediate supervision of CNAs and LPNs during assigned shift in designated unit. Staff RN, meeting established criteria, may be designated to serve as a Team Leader over a designated group of units on their shift. The Staff RN serving as the designated Team Leader will have general supervision over the entire team. Performs tasks and responsibilities in a manner consistent with The Children’s Center Rehabilitation Hospital’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Standards.      POSITION QUALIFICATIONS      Education: Associate Degree or completion of diploma in Nursing Program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred   Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English required.      Experience: None required      Licenses/Certifications: Registration and current RN license in Oklahoma. CPR and PALS Certification within 1 year of employment.
