Experience with artificial airways. Proficient computer skills. Requires dependable transportation with willingness to travel and transport residents as necessary. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Motivated and energetic as well as professional demeanor with outstanding patient assessment skills. Must be able to work independently and have exceptional time management skills. Must be able to work under pressure and demonstrate willingness to work weekends, holidays or nights, and fill in as necessary. Provide efficient life-saving therapies by responding to code alerts within the facility. Maintains safe operation of respiratory care services equipment by adhering to safety regulations, making adjustments to equipment and troubleshooting malfunctions.
Display availability and adaptability. Appreciate and respect patient/resident/family confidentiality. Adjust settings on equipment as necessary. Administer aerosolized respiratory medications as ordered. Maintain artificial airway. Maintain proper oxygen titration levels. Perform basic and specialized clinical technical respiratory procedures. Perform miscellaneous duties as necessary.
Diploma/GED. Graduate from a respiratory care educational program supported by CoARC or equal accreditation, with an Associates of Art in Respiratory Care.
At least 2 years (regular 20 hours or more per week) of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist. Minimum of 1 year critical care experience.
Current Mississippi licensure and in good standing. Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner or Certified Respiratory Therapist. Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Current CPR certification.
