Major duties and responsibilities include:
Performs routine nursing procedures as directed by RN. Assists the RN & LPN with the more acutely ill patients as described. Helps prepare unit, patient rooms, patient beds for receiving patient admission, returning surgical patient, etc. Transcribes information such as patient’s temperature, pulse rate, respiration and blood pressure from nurse’s records onto patient’s medical records. Records diet orders on appropriate forms. Keeps nurses’ station desk neat, clean and orderly. Answers telephone and relays messages to patients and staff courteously tactfully. EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 6 months of previous experience as a C.N.A. is required. Must have current CPR certification. Must be Washington State Nursing Assistant certified. Clerical experience or previous experience as a unit coordinator preferred.
Excellent communication skills and be able to communicate clearly and accurately in the English language, both orally and in writing. Medical Background Required Ability to follow directions and work well with others. Completed Medical Terminology Course
