Job Description

This position is responsible for assisting staff in the coordination of intra- and inter-departmental activities and communication. Assists with patient-related activities under the supervision of the RN. Job Functions Processes physician orders. Communicates pertinent information regarding unit/department activities to appropriate staff. Processes admissions, transfers, discharges and schedules appointments. Restocks and orders supplies for unit/area. Completes assigned clerical responsibilities. Performs support functions for management staff as required. Maintains the flow of the department by coordinating care of the patient between other departments. Demonstrates competencies in the specialty area Provides professional and courteous customer service to internal and external customers. Performs other duties as assigned.   Minimum Requirements   Employment Requirements Minimum Education/Work Experience/License/Certifications High school graduate or equivalent Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification Preferred Qualifications Completion of Health Unit Coordinator course Previous HUC experience Experience in hospital setting Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities Strong communication and listening skills Knowledge of basic computer functions Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situation and diverse patient populations Ability to work autonomously and as a team Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to work and multi-task in a high stress and fast paced environment Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above Click here to review the physical demands of this position   Join an organization that seeks to enhance the lifelong health of the people it serves with a culture that nurtures the whole person- mind, body and spirit.
