The Laboratory Manager is a working department manager who is responsible for the overall operation, leadership, direction, and administration of the Clinical Laboratory in accordance with State and Federal Regulations governing clinical laboratories. Responsible for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital within the Laboratory Department and their effect on patient care. Provides leadership with consideration of Willapa Harbor Hospital's mission, vision and values, and promotes an atmosphere of respect and encouragement for professional growth for all caregivers.
Responsible for daily management and leadership of staff. Includes, but not limited to contract review, policy and procedures review, financial management, identifying future growth opportunities, process improvement, and quality assurance, reporting and ordering lab specific items. Manages all laboratory staff scheduling, job-related concerns, which could include performance or behavioral, including regulatory compliance (CLIA), competency, training, certification, and other technical duties as needed. Lead team meetings/huddles within the department to communicate departmental and organizational updates. Attends meetings and participates on committees as requested as representative of the lab.
MT (ASCP), 4 years of MT experience
3 years of previous/current management experience preferred in an Acute Care Setting
Master’s degree preferred.
Previous experience required in Microbiology and Immunohematology.
