This inpatient unit focuses on the care of patients with heart and stroke conditions. And, what a time to be on the heart care team at Mercy! With the addition of open-heart surgery at Mercy, our staff have really enjoyed the progression of skills and abilities they’ve experienced with each new procedure offered at Mercy. It’s growing each day. This unit is fast-paced with high energy, and our staff focus a lot of effort in supporting one another. We pride ourselves on teamwork. High School diploma or equivalent preferred
In addition, must have ONE of the following:
completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Health Support Professional program
a minimum of 2 years in a Bachelors in Nursing Degree program
one year in an ADN program
comparable education, training and experience in the absence of successful completion of a CNA or Health Support Professional program
Licensure, Certification, Registration
Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), in accordance with the American Heart Association required.
Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required. Employee must submit certification of completed training to Human Resources prior to start or transfer date.
