Job Description


Under the supervision of the Revenue Cycle Director, the Revenue Cycle Manager will manage the revenue cycle for a fast paced, deadline driven Community Health Center. The successful candidate must possess a strong understanding of the entire revenue cycle along with expertise in utilizing analytics, including generating trend analyses and key metrics, to pin point and address revenue cycle challenges, and align initiatives with the revenue cycle strategic objectives. The Revenue Cycle Manager will directly supervise the Billing staff, while holding them accountable to achieve positive financial outcomes. The position requires active engagement in cross departmental teams, strong problem solving and research skills. The Revenue Cycle Manager will be expected to educate leadership, administrative, clinical and billing staff on the full picture related to the reimbursement cycle for Medi-Cal, Medicare, FPACT and other payers. 


  • 5+ years’ experience leading/managing healthcare Revenue Cycle Departments Required.
  • Bachelors’ or Associates Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience - Strongly Preferred.
  • Knowledge of third party payers, Medi-Cal, Medicare, State and Federal Programs
  • Knowledge of NextGen
  • Proficiency using a PC and various software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Microsoft and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD10  
  • FQHC Experience.
  • Demonstrated quantitative analytical skills and ability to generate reports, metrics and trend analyses independently
  • Ability to analyze problems and formulate plans, solutions and course of action
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills
  • Professional Coder Certification - Preferred
  • In depth understanding of FQHC’s entire Revenue Cycle - Preferred.
