Job Description

: Performs a variety of imaging procedures, including routine and specialized x-rays, fluoroscopy and C-arm surgery procedures.  The Imaging Technologist II also performs Computed Tomography (CT) scans and takes after hours call as needed.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Produces diagnostic radiographs as requested by the physician following the guidelines in the Policies and Procedures Manual Schedules all patients for special procedures to be performed daily. Provides patients with written and verbal instructions required to provide optimum preparation for these procedures Ensures patient safety by following department protocol Explains to the patient all procedures to be performed. Responds to special needs, requests and concerns of the patient Has proper respect for all equipment with special emphasis on mobile diagnostic units, C-arm, portable units, and EKG equipment. Informs the Imaging Supervisor of any equipment problems and documents this information Participates in the Hospital Quality Assurance Program as needed. Performs quality control tasks when necessary and carefully documents this activity Attends required in-service programs and outside Hospital workshops/seminars to assure continuing education Prepares all radiographs with comparison films and a complete history to be ready for the Radiologist's interpretation Maintains an accurate record of all films checked out of the Department Answers the telephone/pages and responds appropriately   SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned   EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification Washington State Radiologic Technologist license Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Graduate of an approved Radiology program Minimum 2 years' x-ray and (CT) experience 2 years of ARRT and ability to work independently in CT preferred *A current resume and cover letter are required for any applicant to be considered   Schedule 1.0FTE; 40hpw; variable days and shifts. 10-hour shifts.
