The Network Specialist is responsible for monitoring software and hardware utilization, and assisting with the day to day operation of the hospital wide network and offsite facilities as needed. Participate in daily and week end on call for hospital support.
-Maintains Network for Facility.
-Installs and optimizes hardware and software, including upgrades to application
servers, to meet hospital application specifications.
-Establishes and maintains specific backup procedures for networked
computers and application servers.
-Serves as liaison with user departments and vendors to communicate, evaluate and resolve technical and software related problems.
-Participates in daily and weekend on call for hospital support.
-Maintains user accounts on Hospital and Active Directory servers.
-Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
-Ability to maintain and troubleshoot local area networks, network operating systems, and local PC and thin clients. Ability to communicate with end-users.
Typical Physical Demands:
Full range of motion in upper and lower extremities. Moving and/or lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Standing and/or walking for extensive periods of time. Work under stressful conditions. Working irregular hours on an as needed basis. Working with computer equipment is required.
Minimum Work Experience
Two years’ technical experience with personal computers and data communications required. Experience with Microsoft Server, Microsoft Office, Citrix, Ethernet, DOS, Windows and VMS desirable. 2008,2012, 2016, 2019.
