RN is a member of the patient care team within the Hospice Department and is directly accountable to the Patient Care Manager and is delegated an assignment by the Patient Care Coordinator to achieve quality patient care. The position requires that the individual be clinically competent. The RN Staff Nurse shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervation, and evaluation in collaboration with the Pateint Care Coordinator and Hospice IDT. This is evidence by following patient’s plan of care, documentation in medical record, and direct observation by Patient Care Coordinator and Patient Care Manager as applicable. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
Demonstrate ability to perform wound care on patients with complicated wounds using appropriate dressings. Demonstrate ability to oversee medication administration in the inpatient setting by oral, peripheral and IV pump administration. Demonstrate ability to enter all patients charting in EMR with documentation meeting state and federal guidelines.
Education/Skills: Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.
Work Experience: Minimum one year medical/surgical/oncology nursing preferred. Hospice experience preferred.
Certification/Licensure: Current license to practice in State of Mississippi required. Current certification in CPR required. Current Mississippi driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance required.
